Long ago there was an ideal king named Vikramaditya. King Vikramaditya was famous for his courage, bravery and bravery. King Vikramaditya was very sensitive towards his subjects and sympathized with their pain. For this reason, King Vikramaditya used to visit the city in disguise to see the sufferings of the people. Many books and stories have been published on the stories of King Vikramaditya and Betal. “Betal Pachisi” and “Singhasan Battisi” are very famous books printed on the stories of Vikramaditya and Betal. Which is read even today.

Who was Betal and why did King Vikramaditya go to capture him?

A tantrik was performing a tantrik ritual to sacrifice a healthy Brahmin son with thirty-two symptoms. So that his demonic powers will increase further. That's why that Tantrik follows a Brahmin's son to kill him. But the Brahmin son runs away to the forest and there he meets a ghost, who gives powers to the Brahmin son to escape from that tantrik and asks him to hang upside down on a tree in the form of a ghost. Also says that as long as he stays on that tree, that tantrik will not be able to kill him. That Brahmin son is none other than "Betaal".

The hypocrite Tantrik creates the image of a mendicant yogi. The king, listening to Vikram's tales of might and bravery, lays a trap to get his work done and the king presents Vikram with a delicious fruit every day during the journey. Inside which there is a precious gem ruby. To find out this difference, King Vikram searches for that monk. Eventually King Vikram finds him.

Since that impostor beggar does not have the power to bring Betal himself, he creates a farce and asks King Vikram to bring Betal, the ghost hanging on that tree. King Vikram, unaware of the real intention of that Tantrik, sets out to do his work.

King Vikram used to take Betal off the tree every time and used to take him to that beggar. Due to the long way, every time Betal starts telling the story and puts a condition that after listening to the story, if King Vikram does not give a meaningful answer to his question, then he will kill King Vikram. And if King Vikram opened his mouth to answer, he would get angry and go back to his tree and hang himself upside down.

In the pitch dark night, King Vikram with his open sword in hand moves forward to capture Betal. With his prowess, he subdues Betal and starts carrying him on his back. Due to the long journey, Betal tells the story to King Vikram and puts a condition as usual that-

If after listening to the story you open your mouth to answer, I will fly away.

Betal starts telling the story-

An old woman lived in Chandanpur village. He had a son named Dagdu. That woman used to feed herself and her son by doing the work of stitching new and old clothes. Dagdu was a slacker and a lazy boy. And used to dream day and night. One major problem with Dagdu was that he often had nightmares. And whenever there was a bad dream, that dream became reality.

One day Dagdu dreams that some people are robbing the newly married couple and the wedding procession. And are also fighting with them. The one whom Dagdu has seen in his dream. The same bride-to-be comes to Dagdu's mother to take back her wedding lehenga after it is stitched. Dagdu immediately calls him a dream. The girl tells this to her mother and in-laws. But everyone ignores this dream considering it as an illusion.

After marriage, when the bride and groom are going with the wedding procession. Then the dream event actually happens. And in this whole incident Dagdu is accused that he must have met the robbers, otherwise how could he know that this would happen. And on the basis of suspicion, all the people together beat Dagdu a lot.

A few days after this incident, one night Dagdu dreams that Chaudharyan's new house, living in the locality, gets burnt to ashes on the day of housewarming. That's why the very next day Chaudharyan reaches Dagdu's mother with laddoos in the happiness of getting that house built. And invites you to come to the party on the day of the housewarming ceremony.

On the other hand, Dagdu immediately tells about the dream to his mother and Chaudharyan. Chaudharyan turns red-yellow with anger. And on the contrary, she starts saying to Dagdu's mother that your son is black-tongued and his speaking causes disaster for everyone. Chaudharyan gets angry and after listening to the burnt cut, the mother leaves from there saying good and bad to the son.

Elaborate arrangements are made to ensure that no incident takes place during the housewarming ceremony; But still somehow or other the spark of the fire gets caught in the curtains of Chaudharyan's grand house and in no time it assumes a fierce form and burns the whole house to ashes. Since Dagdu had already spoken about this, everyone curses him with black tongues and kills him and drives him out of the village.

Dagdu doesn't understand why people get angry on him after hearing the truth. Well, Dagdu moves to another kingdom where he gets the job of guarding the palace during the night.

The king there has to go to Sonpur for some work the next day. That's why he tells the queen to wake him up early in the morning.

Dagdu is standing guard at the door of the palace at night. Only then does he fall asleep when it gets dark. And then he dreams that there has been an earthquake in Sonpur and all the people present there have died. Dagdu wakes up shocked and starts doing his chowkidari.

Dagdu hears about Raja going to Sonpur in the morning. Only then stops his chariot and tells the king about his dream. Raja cancels the program of going to Sonpur. And the very next day news comes that there has been a sudden earthquake in Sonepur and there is not a single person left alive.

The king immediately summons Dagdu to the court, presents him with a gold necklace and throws him out of his job.

Betal stops after telling such a story. And the king asks Vikram that why did the king give the award to Dagdu? If he was given a prize then why was he fired?

King Vikram replies that… Dagdu saved the king's life by telling the story of his inauspicious dream, so he gave gold to Dagdu as a reward. And Dagdu fell asleep at work, so the king fired him.

Because of King Vikram's answer, Betal released his hand and flew back to the tree!

A young man named Satvsheel comes to King Chandrasen of Tamralipi, a city situated on the seashore, asking for a job. But Chandrasen's soldiers do not allow Satvsheel to go near them. Satvsheel is always on the lookout to somehow meet Raza.

One day the king's ride is going. Due to high heat, King Chandrasen feels very thirsty. They don't get water even after searching a lot, it seems as if they will die of thirst!

Then he sees a young man standing on the way; He is none other than Satvsheel, who is consciously already present on the path of the king. Seeing him, the king asks him for water. Sattvasheel immediately quenches the king's thirst and at the same time gives him fruits to eat. Chandrasen is pleased with Satvsheel and asks what he can do for him.

Seeing the opportunity, Satvsheel asks for a job for himself. King Chandrasen gives him the job, and says that he will remember his favor. Gradually, Satsheel becomes close to the king. One day the king tells him that there is a lot of unemployment in our city and an island nearby is very green. If we go and search on that island, then maybe there will be some opportunity for the people of our city.

Satvashila immediately takes the initiative to investigate. And after getting a boat and some allies from King Chandrasen, he goes towards the island in the sea. As soon as he reaches the island, Satvsheel sees a flag floating in the water. Seeing him, Satvsheel immediately jumps into the water to investigate.

Satvsheel suddenly finds himself on the land of the island. Where a beautiful girl is listening to music, she is the princess of that island, and there are other girls around her. Satwaseel introduces himself to her and the princess offers food to Satwaseel and asks him to take a bath in a small pond of water before eating.

As soon as Satvashila goes to bathe in the water, he finds himself in the palace of Tamralipi, near King Chandra Sen. And seeing this miracle, even Chandrasen was amazed. Chandrasen himself decides to go to this mysterious place and go there and conquer that island. The princess of that island declares the winner Chandrasen as the king of that island.

In the joy of victory, King Chandrasen orders Satvsheel to get married to that princess and entrusts the responsibility of protecting and representing that area to Satvsheel. In this way, Chandrasen repays the favor of Satvasheel.

After telling such a story, Betal becomes silent and asks King Vikram that who was the braver among the two? Satvasheel or King Chandrasen who won the island. King

Vikram immediately replies that Satvashila was more brave because he was unaware of the situation there when he jumped near the island after seeing the flag in the water. There could also be a danger of death. But King Chandrasen knew the whole thing, and he was able to win with the help of the army. That's why Satvashila was more brave.

Once again, as soon as King Vikram opened his mouth, Betal flew away…. And went to the tree and hanged upside down.
